Targeted Case Management (TCM)
TCM is a service that includes either Intensive Case Management (ICM) or Resource Coordination (RC) which encourages and assists children and their families in accessing mental health treatment, as well as other medical and social services, facilitates coordination between all systems involved , and links them to community resources.
Mental Health Outpatient Therapy
Outpatient therapy is a service that, by means of individual, group, family therapy, psychotropic medication management, and psychiatric evaluation, intends to increase a child/adolescent’s well-being and transfers skills to help them better manage their mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Outpatient therapy can also be specialized based on individual issues (i.e. eating disorder, anger management, family, marriage, substance abuse, trauma, etc.)
Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Services (BHRS)
This mental health treatment, provided in the home, school, and/or community, is for children/adolescents with a severe emotional and/or behavioral disorder and who require more intense treatment than that offered in outpatient therapy. The goal of BHRS is to enhance their ability to function socially, emotionally, and behaviorally.
Family-Based Mental Health Services (FBMHS)
FBMHS treats children/adolescents with serious emotional and/or behavioral disorders, and their families, who cannot be better served by BHRS or outpatient treatment and are at-risk of placement outside the home. FBMHS includes individual and family therapy, family support, and case management, as well as around-the-clock crisis intervention.
Mental Health Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
An alternative to inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization is an outpatient psychiatric day or evening program that offers the intensity of an inpatient program without having to stay in a hospital. Treatment consists of individual, group and family therapy, educational groups and medication management all in a structured environment.
Community Residential Rehabilitation Host Home (CRR-HH)
A level of care for children/adolescents who cannot be safely maintained in the community with natural resources but do not require the structure of an RTF program. Children in a CRR-HH reside with a family who is trained to work with children experiencing behavioral and emotional difficulty and receive individual, group and family therapy. The child/adolescent attends school within the community of the host home.
Residential Treatment Facility (RTF)
An intensive out-of-home treatment for children/adolescents who cannot be safely maintained in an outpatient or community-based setting and in which they reside at a facility and receive 24-hour supervision. Services provided within an RTF include individual, group and family therapy, as well a medication management and educational component. The child/adolescent typically attends the on-grounds school provided by the facility.
Mental Health Inpatient (MH-IP)
Acute 24 hour care for individuals with a mental health diagnosis who are not responsive to outpatient treatment. The staff provides round the clock structured and supportive environment and one-to-one supervision for Individuals who are at risk for harm to self or others. Services provided include individual, group, and family therapy as well as medication monitoring.
